What child doesn't love to discover a butterfly, dig for worms, or hold a frog in their hand?

Preschool campers spend time in our gardens searching for butterflies, frogs and so many more critters!

Our Garden Critters camp builds on a child's innate curiosity and fascination finding a new critter each day during garden explorations, lessons, games, and crafts. The camp week concludes with smiles, new friends, and a keepsake craft with each day's critter.

This half-day, week-long adventure is one of our most popular camps and is a great opportunity to introduce your little garden critter to the Arboretum.

Campers bring a bagged lunch and snack from home.

Note: This week of Garden Critters camp will be the same activities as the Garden Critters camp in June. Campers should not be registered for both weeks of camp since activities will be repeated.

Camp registration will open with 10 campers per session and may increase as allowed by University, state and federal gathering limits. Campers will be required to follow NC State University Community Standards.

Age
4 and 5 year olds. Campers must be at least 4 years old by the first day of camp and fully potty-trained.
Cost
$175.00 for Arboretum Family/Dual level or above members, $205.00 for Nonmembers
Registration

Registration begins on February 22, 2021, for Arboretum members at the Family/Dual level or above.

Public registration begins March 8, 2021.

Registration is completed through our online system, Reporter. A link to registration will appear on each camp page once registration opens. Camps are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. When a camp fills, a waitlist will be started.

Full payment for camp will be due on May 7, 2021. You will receive an e-mail notice prior to the payment deadline. No payments will be taken at the time of registration.

Campers are responsible for providing a snack and lunch each day of camp.

If you would like to become a member to enjoy early registration, discounted camp registration fees, and other year-long benefits, please visit our membership page. Membership must be at the Family/Dual level or above to take advantage of early registration.

Registrations received during the members-only period (February 22, 2021–March 7, 2021) not associated with a current Family/Dual level or above membership will be refunded minus a 15% administrative fee. To make sure your registration is completed, join now!
