Visitor Guidelines

While you’re here, please protect the garden:

  • This is a teaching and research facility. Do not pick or remove anything from the Arboretum and stay on the paths.
  • Pets, emotional support, and therapy animals are not allowed. We welcome service animals.
  • Please supervise your children at all times for their safety and the welfare of the plants.
  • No bicycling, skating, skateboarding, scooters or rollerblading. Bike rack is located in the parking lot.
  • Sporting games and similar activities are not allowed – no footballs, soccer balls, discs, kites, etc.
  • Smoking or vaping is not permitted.
  • Keep our garden natural – no glitter, confetti, or balloons.
  • Photographers are welcome, but please do not move benches or labels, stage people in trees or plantings, bring in large props, or block pathways. Keep visiting guests a priority. See additional guidelines.
  • No drones per NC State University policy.
  • Certified nursery and landscape professionals are permitted to collect propagules from the Arboretum with prior permission from a staff member.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
