The JCRA is located in west Raleigh near the NC State Fairgrounds, two miles west of the NC State University's main campus. It is directly across the street from Capitol City Lumber Company.

The JCRA grounds are open Monday through Friday throughout including holidays. However, entrance to the Arboretum is limited to Raulston Blooms! attendees for most of the day on the fourth Saturday in April. Please check our events calendar for dates, times, and details including information on how to buy tickets. The Visitor Center and McSwain Center are closed on state holidays.


There is no admission charge, however, donations are encouraged.


Parking is free and is available in the Arboretum's paved lot and along Beryl Road. Please observe the no parking signs on Beryl Road.

Guided Tours and Field Trips

Guided tours for adults and field trips are available year-round when arranged one month in advance. Tour are $5.00 per person ($50.00 minimum per tour).
