Summer Garden Camps

Summer Garden Camps are a great way for your child to spend more time outdoors exploring nature. Campers participate in hands-on science lessons; garden investigations; arts and crafts; and fun, engaging games and activities all while gaining a deeper appreciation for the environment that surrounds them.

Camps range from preschool to rising eighth graders.

Preschool campers will delight in learning about different garden critters each day. Camp days include garden activities and games, stories, and art projects.

All new mysteries this summer! Campers discover the gardens and the creatures living in them through daily mysteries.  The daily mysteries will encourage campers to work together answering questions, learning from the garden, and ultimately solving the mystery.

Our gardens are diverse and packed full of exciting things to discover.  Campers become citizen scientists for a week investigating daily questions about what’s in the garden by learning to observe, document, and report on their observations.

Artists in the Garden

The gardens will whisk your artists around the world and introduce famous artists to inspire daily art projects. Each day is a different theme filled with creativity. The week concludes with an art show filled with garden inspired creations.

Explore the vegetable garden with us. Through a combination of indoor and outdoor activities, campers learn how our food is produced and how good it tastes from their garden.

Project PLANTS

8:30 am–4:00 pm           

Dig into science through exploratory field trips and hands-on projects in horticulture and agriculture! Project PLANTS examines the scientific world with interactive experiences while fostering positive social connections to fellow middle school students and mentors in their local communities.

Rising 7th and 8th graders.

Member registration begins on January 29, 2018.

Public registration begins February 12, 2018.

Registrations received during the member only period that are not associated with a current family/dual membership will be moved to the wait list.  These registrations will be completed during public registration only if there are spaces still available. To make sure your registration is completed, join now!

Registration fees include all program resources and materials required for camp. Campers are responsible for providing snack and lunch each day of camp.

Register

Cancellations and Refunds

Registration fees are 100% refundable when the Arboretum cancels the camp. Memberships are not refundable.

Participants wishing to withdraw from a camp that has not been canceled by the Arboretum must provide a written request by May 25, 2018. If the withdrawal request is received by May 25, 2018, a refund will be given minus a 15% administrative fee per child per camp. No fees will be refunded if registration is canceled after May 25, 2018.

Wait List

A wait list will be started when camp sessions fill up. If space opens in your desired camp session, you will be contacted and given the opportunity to accept or decline the space. Upon accepting the space, registration fees and forms will be due to secure your camper's spot.
