Lunch and Lit in the Garden, Grades 5-8
Wishtree
Thursdays, September 15 through November 3, 2022 – 12:00 pm–2:00 pm
Register RegisterWho doesn't love a great story? Bring lunch and listen to a timely tale told by a tree named Red Oak, who's "two hundred and sixteen rings old!"
Through this touching book, Wishtree by Katherine Applegate, the author explores the meaning of community while deftly focusing on the birds and animals who find shelter in the tree year-round. Each week we will explore the garden and complete a variety of hands-on nature activities inspired by the day's reading. Includes a little literary analysis, a bit of nature study, some artistic endeavors, science and more!
