Backyard Farm Camp Children's Program
Monday, June 29, 2020 through Wednesday, July 1, 2020 – 9:00 am–3:30 pm
Tend vegetable beds. Take care of chicks. It's a mini-camp with your camper as an urban farmer!
Campers learn how a backyard can be a farm through daily garden tasks, garden record keeping, and interactive lessons about the garden. They'll even get to help take care of some feathered friends! We are teaming up with Mary Fosnaught, the 4-H and Youth Development Extension Associate in NCSU's Prestage Department of Poultry Science to bring chickens to the Yurt Yard Farm.
Campers transform the Yurt Yard into a productive backyard urban farm and bring the fruits of their labor home. Camp ends Wednesday afternoon with a Farmer's Market for camp families.
Enrollment is limited to 16 campers. Campers bring lunch and snack.
