A Walk in the Winter Garden
- Sunday, February 18, 2007 – 1:00 pm–4:00 pm
Join us at the JC Raulston Arboretum for "A Walk in the Winter Garden" as we celebrate the winter season. Festivities begin at 1:00 PM with a Friends of the Arboretum Lecture presented by Doug Ruhren, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. "A Walk in the Winter Garden" tours begin at 2:00 PM and will highlight many of the Arboretum's magnificent plants at their peak during the winter months including Japanese flowering apricots, witchhazels, hellebores, conifers, hollies, winter honeysuckles, and many others.
Self-guided tour brochures will be made available at the Arboretum throughout February for those unable to attend the guided tours.

With such a wealth of plants of winter-interest no garden need be dull in the winter months. Yet gardening in a mild climate means we have it even better in that we can have plants in bloom all winter long and don't have to be satisfied with just colorful twigs and evergreen foliage. This lecture will highlight a wide range of plants that bloom through the months of the year when frost is likely.
