Opportunities for Giving
Endowment for Excellence
Endowment gifts provide a long-term investment that will weather the financial storms of our precarious economy and provide essential support into perpetuity. A gift to the Endowment for Excellence is way of insuring that future generations will have a green space to visit and to learn about plants from around the world. Your gift to the Endowment for Excellence is wise investment for the future—helping to provide a beautiful tranquil setting where families can enjoy and appreciate nature all year long.
Linda and Theodore "Ted" Bilderback Endowment for the JC Raulston Arboretum Children's Program
Help grow the next generation into good and thoughtful stewards of the green world by investing in the Linda and Theodore "Ted" Bilderback Endowment for the JC Raulston Arboretum Children's Program. Your gift to the endowment honors Ted's distinguished career and provides continued support to the Children's Program.
Named Garden or Program
Did you know that there are many naming opportunities at the JC Raulston Arboretum? What a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy and a remarkable tribute to your family, a loved one, or your business.
Student Internship Program
The Student Internship Program has proven to be a real win-win opportunity for both the worthy young people chosen to serve as JCRA interns and for the Arboretum. Through this program, you can truly make an impact on a young person's life. There are also two named JCRA internship endowments—Dr. Robert E. Lyons JCRA Internship Endowment and the Isabella Cannon Endowed Arboretum Internship.
The JCRA Children's Program connects young people to the field of horticulture and give them a better appreciation of the green world around them. This program is teaching and cultivating the next generation of friends of the Arboretum—another great investment in the future of our young people.
Gifts to the annual appeal are tax-deductible contributions over and above regular membership support. It is a great way to broaden your investment in the JC Raulston Arboretum, while making your year-end 2014 tax-exempt gifts before your "Uncle Sam" takes his cut. For more information on your 2014 end-of-year giving, please visit the Advancement office's Year-End Giving Instructions for Donors Web page.
Tribute gifts are a thoughtful way to celebrate a birthday, wedding, graduation, or any special occasion. They also serve as a special expression of sympathy by honoring the memory of a friend or relative. Tributes or memorial gifts can honor someone you admire, respect, or want to remember in a meaningful way, such as a family member, a mentor, a coworker, or a friend who has made a special impact on your life.
Did you know there are creative ways to support the JC Raulston Arboretum? Ways in which the JCRA, you, and your loved ones all benefit at the same time? Such giving techniques are called planned gifts, because with thoughtful planning, you create win-win solutions for you and the Arboretum.
In tough economic times, cash gifts may be more difficult for your personal budget. However, there are many opportunities for donated items or gifts-in-kind. You or your company might consider donating equipment, materials and supplies, or a service. Plus, most of these gifts-in-kind are recognized by the IRS as a tax-deductible gift.
