- "The northernmost wild population of I. cornuta in Korea occurs on the Pyonsan Peninsula where it is designated as National Monument 122 and is surrounded by wire fencing. At most, there are about 20 small and depauperate, struggling plants, 0.5-1 meter tall and of unknown sex. The leaves of these plants were strongly spined representing the "typical" expression of the species." Ted Dudley trip notes
