Our sales have a reputation for including hot new introductions, hard to find specialty plants, and our favorite reliable performers. This sale has it all. Our horticulturists have been busy creating an amazing plant list including plants from greenhouses and nurseries around the country!

shrimp plant
A Mexican native plant that suckers and sprawls to 36" or taller in moist rich conditions, this plant develops drooping arching terminal flower spikes of white flowers with overlapping red/pink/bronze bracts that resemble large shrimp. Can be pruned back as needed to control height and promote bushiness. Can be grown as a houseplant.

Brazilian plume
A Brazilian native with attractive pink summer flowers in a tuft at the tips of the branches. It is winter hardy here in Raleigh. This selection has attractive dark foliage. Attracts hummingbirds.

Kirengeshoma palmata
yellow wax bells
Coarsely toothed, deeply lobed woodland perennial with large leaves. Narrow, drooping, waxy, bell-shaped yellow flowers in late summer. 3-horned, brownish-green seed capsules. Prefers moist soil with lots of leaf compost and mulch.

Hot colored orange and yellow blooms after all other red hot pokers in fall. During mild winters it may also bloom again in early spring. The flower head is short and wide but very pretty.

blistered Cape cowslip
South African bulb with Delphinium-like flowers. Grown from Jerusalem Botanic Garden seed so we're not sure of the flower color...could be yellow, white, or pink. Might be cold hardy but probably not...we haven't grown it outside yet. Tolerates summer drought. Great container plant with a sandy pot mix.

Vigorous, but not aggressive, twining vine. Great choice for arbors, trellises and chain-link fences. Fragrant red-orange trumpet flowers are attractive to hummingbirds. Blooms over a long season. Can be cut down to ground level and new shoots will generate.

Lonicera nitida 'Maigrün'
box honeysuckle
‘Maigrun’ is an outstanding, low-mounding, evergreen shrub from southeastern China. Its small, flat, bright green leaves arise from arching stems, in orderly pairs. Growing in the JCRA’s Lath House since 2012, it has spread rapidly forming a well-branched and mounding shrub 2’–3’ tall and 5' wide. Spring flowers are creamy-white and small. It is an excellent ground cover for borders, slopes, or banks in locations with part sun.

Purple Diamond Chinese fringe flower
Loropetalum are great landscape plants and this very dark leaf form is no exception. Mid-sized with brilliant flowers make it a real treat in the landscape. Best color and flowering is in full sun but it is very tolerant of low light conditions.

Marilyn's Choice cylindrical magnolia
(Recently potted) Tightly columnar Chinese species. White 3" blooms emerge in late March. Best grown in moist, fertile, slightly acidic, organically rich, well-drained loam in full sun to part shade. Four inch cylindrical fruits mature in fall to bright red. This selection blooms at a young age and has superior foliage and branch structure.
