Elm Circle
The Elm Circle is a pefect place for a picnic or your next function. The focal point of the garden is the weeping winged elm (Ulmus alata 'Lace Parasol'), a signature plant of the JC Raulston Arboretum that is now a work of art since its death a few years ago due to Dutch elm disease. Conveniently located near the Necessary (restrooms), the Elm Circle is available for weddings and other outdoor get togethers.
A few of the fine plant specimens located in this garden include:
- Chinese fringe tree – Chionanthus retusus
- compact butterfly-bush – Buddleja 'Blue Chip'
- weeping Texas redbud – Cercis canadensis subsp. texensis 'Traveller'
