Some lists are life-changing. Some lists are downright terrifying. Welcome to Top 5, our new series where we count down the best, the boldest, and occasionally the bizarre of the plant world—and beyond.

We're kicking things off with a bang (and a little bite) with a look at scale insects. Join us as we examine these tiny, clandestine sap-suckers, the plants they target, and the strategies you can use to control them. It's a playful take on a serious topic: managing pests without losing your mind (or your plants). By the end, you'll know exactly how to spot these miniature menaces and protect your favorite plants from their sticky grip.
