Japan is well-known for its meticulous and serene gardens where each element is carefully selected to create a harmonious whole. Japanese specialty nurseries by contrast offer some of the most diverse and unusual plants anywhere in the world. These very different traditions are two sides of the same coin expressed in opposite ways but both fascinating and beautiful.

A scene in a Japanese Garden
