Plant-Lover's Tour
"The Ten Oldest Trees in the Arboretum"
Evan Villani and Dennis Carey, Research Technician and Curator, respectively
- Tuesday, August 5, 2025 – 9:00 am–10:00 am
Love plants? So do we! And if you love trees with stories to tell, this tour is for you. Join our Curator, Dennis Carey, and Research Technician, Evan Villani, as they take you on a time-traveling walk through the Arboretum to meet the ten oldest trees in our collection.
Some of these time-honored trees have been on this Earth for more than a century — arriving in our arboretum decades ago and quietly witnessing the garden’s growth and transformation. As we visit each one, Dennis will dig into the quirky details of its fascinating backstory while Evan brings a fresh perspective and a spark of enthusiasm to the journey.
We promise to stick to ten trees... at least to start. Don’t be surprised if we can’t resist sharing a few extra favorites along the way!
