What to Expect:

This event is a half-lecture, half-demonstration workshop designed to teach you everything you need to know about winter rose pruning. The first 30-45 minutes will be spent in our Education Yurt, where you'll receive a comprehensive lecture on the different types of roses, the best pruning tools, and general pruning principles. Our knowledgeable instructor will guide you through the key concepts to help you understand how and why winter pruning is crucial for your roses' health and future blooms.

After the lecture, we’ll head outside to the Rose Garden for a live demonstration by our Director of Horticulture, Greg Paige. Watch as he demonstrates the proper techniques for pruning various types of roses, including when and how to make cuts, how to shape the plant, and how to promote healthy growth.

Hands-On Experience:

Following the demonstration, participants will have the chance to practice pruning under expert supervision. You’ll be able to try your hand at pruning the roses using tools provided by us—please refrain from bringing your own pruners to help protect the health of the plants. Our staff will be on hand to offer guidance and answer any questions as you work, ensuring you leave the workshop confident in your ability to care for your own roses.

Why Attend:
  • Learn essential winter pruning techniques that will help your roses thrive.
  • Gain hands-on experience in the rose garden under the guidance of horticulture experts.
