Last month, we ran our fingers through fuzzy leaves and marveled at the power of texture in garden design. Now we're back to build on that conversation—this time, with a focus on the shady spots. In this edition of the Midweek Program, our horticulture staff will explore how to create rich, tactile landscapes in lower-light areas, using a palette of plants that thrive out of the sun. From feathery ferns to bold-leaved understory shrubs, we'll look at how texture can bring depth and dimension to even the shadiest corners of your garden. Whether you're working under towering trees or planning a peaceful woodland nook, you'll come away with plenty of plant inspiration—and, yes, probably a few new favorite plants to pet along the way!
