Family Nature Journaling
Canceled due to weather
- Saturday, January 11, 2025 – 9:30 am–11:00 am
Want to start a new healthy habit in 2025? Try nature journaling with your family!
The natural curiosity of children makes them excellent candidates for nature journaling. And, as adults we can learn a lot from our kids! Our appreciation and awe of nature grows when we learn to slow down, make better observations and appreciate our surroundings.
Nature journaling is a bit of drawing, a bit of science, and a lot of fun. It's all worth the effort! Come as a family to take a walk with us and learn some new journaling techniques to help you become better at really "seeing" what's always been right in front of you.
Perfect for both beginner and seasoned journalers. No artistic ability required! We want to build an encouraging community and provide the time, space and inspiration for you to practice this fulfilling exercise. Bring your own journal materials, or try some of ours to see which you would prefer to invest in.
There are no rules when it comes to nature journals, so we will try:
- Leaf and tree rubbings
- Quick sketches
- Watercolor paintings
- Poetry
- Pressed flowers
- Nature stamp art
- Create lists of birds, flowers and insects we've observed
- Write short stories
- And more!
