Grafting is the most reliable way to propagate Japanese maples while retaining their unique ornamental characteristics. Whether you're brand-new to grafting, or you're looking for a deeper understanding and more practice with your technique, this workshop is perfect for everyone with an interest in propagating your own trees. In this workshop, participants learn to graft Japanese maples from a professional plant propagator. Jennifer Tucker will discuss and demonstrate grafting techniques and then will individually assist each participant as they graft their own plants.

JCRA staff will collect scion wood prior to the workshop. The workshop's fee covers all needed supplies, excluding a grafting knife unless paid for at the time of registration. Each participant will graft a minimum of five Japanese maples.
Note: Each participant will need a sharp, quality grafting knife. If you do not already own one, please select a registration option that includes a grafting knife.
About Jennifer Tucker

Jennifer has been the sole owner and operator of Jensfarm Maples in Middle Tennessee since 2001. Growing three hundred different varieties on the property, Jensfarm has become widely known as a highly reliable source of Japanese Maples in the Southeast region of the United States. Jennifer has over twenty years of self-taught horticulture and gardening experience, and she continues to thrive while seeking to both educate and learn from other growers.
Starting in 2001, Jennifer propagated, grew, and sold a variety of landscape shrubs locally while also actively volunteering and speaking in the Tennessee Master Gardener Program. More recently, Jennifer has narrowed her focus to her passion of grafting and growing Japanese Maples. Jennifer is always eager to find new and rare maples to add to her collection. She is honored to serve The Maple Society of North America as a Committee member and she is also a member of the International Plant Propagator Society.
