Based on a new collection of letters written mostly in the 1930s and 40s in Raleigh from Elizabeth Lawrence to her friend and mentor, Ann Preston Bridgers. Elizabeth Lawrence's biographer and editor, Emily Herring Wilson, will weave together Elizabeth's images of life on Hillsborough Street and her reflections of struggles and successes to show how she became our quintessential gardener and best garden writer. Lively, anecdotal, and revealing.
Emily Herring Wilson, author of the newly published Becoming Elizabeth Lawrence: Discovered Letters of A Southern Gardener; author of No One Gardens Alone: A Life of Elizabeth Lawrence; and editor of Two Gardeners/Katharine S. White and Elizabeth Lawrence: A Friendship in Letters.
