"Sailing from Greenland to Canada: Arctic Warming in the Northwest Passage"
Janice Swab, Professor Emerita, Meredith College

  • Saturday, November 21, 2020 – 10:00 am11:30 am

If we think of the Arctic at all, we normally think of ice, snow, and cold. It is all of those things; however, there is plant and animal diversity to learn about and the indigenous people have a lot to teach us about living in this part of the world. The landscapes are unexpectedly beautiful in the fall as life is preparing for the long, dark winter.

Why is there a renewed interest in the part of the world above the Arctic Circle? What's going on in the Arctic? We'll look at the present and consider the future of this fascinating region.
