Ted Bilderback

Saying Farewell to Ted

By Anne M. Porter, Director of Development

You are cordially invited to a reception honoring Ted Bilderback on Friday, June 20, 2014, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Ted has led the JC Raulston Arboretum since 2009, and he is retiring from a distinguished 37 year career at NC State University to have more time with his new grandsons and enjoy new adventures with his wife, Linda. He might even be found up-a-tree more often—enjoying nature, not demonstrating pruning 101!

Ted has advised, mentored, and taught hundreds of students, volunteers, and green industry professionals, including 25 graduate students. His contributions to NC State and the NC's green industry are too numerous to list, but Ted leaves a lasting legacy of leading the development of the JCRA Children’s Program.
Ted and Linda Bilerback

Honoring Ted

By Anne M. Porter, Director of Development

What a great way to honor Ted by supporting the new Linda and Theodore “Ted” Bilderback Endowment for the JC Raulston Arboretum Children’s Program.

The JCRA Children's Program has taken off since its 2011 beginning. In 2013, there were 55 programs offered with 1,494 participants, and these numbers continue to rise in 2014. Children are the future of our green industry and our green planet. Your investment in this new endowment will help grow the next generation into good and thoughtful stewards of the green world.

Special thanks to the North Carolina Nursery and Landscape Association (NCNLA) and the Johnston County Nursery Marketing Association that have both pledged challenge gifts benefiting the new endowment. What a great way to help us reach the $25,000 endowment goal.

To make your secure online gift to this new endowment, please visit go.ncsu.edu/jcra_bilderback_endowment—or make checks payable to The North Carolina Agricultural Foundation, Inc. (noting Bilderback Endowment) and mail to: JC Raulston Arboretum; Campus Box 7522; Raleigh, NC 27695-7522.

For more information, please contact Anne Porter at (919) 513-3826 or anne_porter@ncsu.edu.
