Reveling in our hot, humid summers and mild autumn months, tropical and sub-tropical plants perform beautifully in North Carolina gardens, providing months of flowers or colorful foliage (or both!) and growing vigorously right up until fall frost. From tiny jewel-like cupheas to towering bananas, easy-to-grow tropicals stretch the textural palette to its limits, while also pushing color boundaries with their often incendiary tones. Singing Springs Nursery owner Pam Baggett shows you the best tender and hardy tropicals for borders and containers, and offers insights on incorporating them into your garden.

- Free for Friends of the JC Raulston Arboretum members, NC State University students (with ID), and Department of Horticultural Science faculty and staff, all others $5.00. Bring your membership card to check in quickly, but as always, we will have a membership list at registration.
