Friends of the Arboretum Lecture
"Where We Were, Where We're Headed"
Jenks Farmer, LushLife Nurseries
- Thursday, May 17, 2012 – 7:30 pm–9:00 pm
Jenks has spent a year roaming the East Coast to interview and write about old gardening methods and to find people who integrate these into modern gardens. He's asked questions like, "How did we go from simple, soulful, organic gardening to a complex, stressful, and expensive habit?" You'll meet through photographs and stories, old people who've never changed and young people leading us to new ways of growing.
Plant Sale
Come a little early or stay a little late for Jenks' crinum lily sale. He's bringing several of his favorite crinums to sell before and after the lecture. If you're new to crinums or want to learn more, you can purchase Jenks' Gardening with Crinum Lilies booklet, too.
